Biography

A vital contributor to Redfm with his vast knowledge and immense command in vocabulary and pronunciation in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi; since we went on air in 2006, his informative and entertaining programs brings the music and the world news to our listeners.

Salman was born in Pakistan and was raised in its rich culture and is very keen to deliver the vibrant colors of it to, wherever he goes. His sophisticated speech and intellectual style just takes your breath away. His educational background comes from the University of Baluchistan where he achieved his Masters Degree in Economics.

Started his melodious career, as a versatile child artist from Radio Pakistan Quetta and served as a news caster, talented drama artist and a spectacular announcer at Radio Pakistan Quetta. Also served, for the same impressive titles for the Radio Pakistan, Lahore with the remarkable amount of youthful experience. Later, joined the Pakistan Television as a newscaster, background commentator and as a drama artist and gained an enormous sum of recognition and quality experience.

With over decades’ experience in radio broadcasting, Salman Ahmed Nasir, hosts "Humara Pakistan" and “Sunhere Geet”, our upbeat Urdu/Hindi language programs offering the spiciest mix of the latest in contemporary and traditional oldies of Pakistani and Indian music on air!

The popular music of the South East Asia is featured in this music program directed towards our Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi listeners; which has bridged the gaps between the people. Wonderful host Salman Nasir guides us through a couple of hours of the tunes of our homelands; which enlightens the hearts and minds of many with the beautiful melodies of old and new times. His poetic style of conversing and narration of poetry from the world renowned poets make it even more entertaining and engaging for our listeners, not only in the province but all over the world!

With everything from a romantic tango, to a sizzling salsa, to a nostalgic old ballad on to the newest craze, a heart-stomping reggae ton! Salman plays all the rhythms that comprise South Asian community and invites you to experience its culture through its very diverse and unforgettable music.

Accompanied by news, interviews, political analysis, sports, and current community events, Salman airs South Asian Music from 9pm to 11pm Mondays to Thursdays and on Thursdays from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm host a debate show which is the talk of the town: The Great Debate!
